Thrifting & baking

I’ve been having a bit of a love affair with my kitchen at the moment.

I’ve been rearranging my pantry and dreaming of beautiful kitchen appliances.

I hadn’t been thrifting in a while, but yesterday I picked up this little beauty.

I also have long pined for an oversized glass cookie jar, and this past weekend I picked one up from the Warehouse.

So of course, this meant that I had to bake cookies!

To make your own delicious chocolate chip cookies, cream 125g of butter and 1/4 cup of sugar, add 3 Tbsp of sweetened consensed milk and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence, followed by 1/2 cup of choc chips – stir to combine. Finally add 1 cup of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder and mix again. Roll in little ball, place of baking tray (no baking paper required due to the butter content, they don’t stick), press down very slightly with a fork. Bake for 15 mins at 165 degrees Celsius.

I like to double the recipe to make 30-40 cookies, because they go fast round here!

Enjoy!

Oh how I would love a kenwood! Those scales are gorgeous though and I love the size of your cookie jar :)

Ooooww I like your scales, I scored some burnt orange retro ones at the end of last year, I've been meaning to do a wee 'best of 11' thrift scores post for a while but at the rate I'm going it will be 'best of 11,12,13 thrift scores'......Sigh!
